What: Latin American Music Series at Nimbus Arts Center
When: Saturday, October 17 from 8pm
Where: 329 Warren at the Lively
The Nimbus Arts Center is kicking off its inaugural season with Musica y Ritmos, a Latin American Music Series spotlighting Jersey City’s Latin American musicians. Saturday’s event will feature Segunda Quimbamba and 2018 Latin Grammy Award Winner, Pedro Giraudo and the Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet. Tickets are $60 (for a table for two) or $10 to stream the event online. In-person attendance is limited due to current COVID-19 guidelines.

What: Outdoor Movie Night: Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone

The Exchange Place Alliance in partnership with Mack-Cali and Councilman Solomon are presenting a free screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The event is open to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis for vehicles and attendees alike. (Bring your own chair(s) if you plan on sitting in). Masks are to be worn at all times unless consuming food. Social distancing will be enforced for both vehicles and walk-ins. Food vendors will include El Chilango Taqueria, Smoke Odyssey, Hybrid Coffee, Angry Archie’s, and CoolVines. Doors open at 6pm.

Burn those weekend calories off with a free fitness class hosted by Four Fitness owner Marcisco Morrison. The outdoor class is designed to work your entire body using your own body weight. Masks will be required and you’ll have to bring your own mat.

Our favorite sandwich shop — Downtowner by Darke Pines — will be at the Butler Cafe at CoolVines this afternoon dishing out their epic sandwiches. They’ll be serving their roast beef, smoked ham, and sweet potato sandwiches. We recommend all three — you won’t regret it.
