The Van Leeuwen Jersey City ice cream shop will celebrate its grand opening today. From 11am to 1pm you can enjoy $1 scoops. Additionally, the first 100 guests will get free totes. The shop will remain open till 12am.

Where: J. Owen Grundy Park
The Exchange Place Alliance is hosting another night of Movies on the Pier. This Friday you’ll be able to catch a free screening of Disney’s Zootopia. The movie starts at sunset (around 7:30pm). Food and drink will be available for purchase.

What: 2nd Annual Drag Me to the Garden

Where: Riverview Park
Drag Me to the Garden is a community drag show and dance party held at Riverview Park by Jersey City Pride and the Riverview Neighborhood Association. The event is free to attend for everyone.

What: Ricky Stein at Fox & Crow
When: Saturday, August 10 from 8pm to 10pm
Where: 594 Palisade Avenue
NYC-based singer/songwriter Ricky Stein makes music that seeks spiritual common ground between the mesas of West Texas and the cobblestones of Brooklyn. Songs are delivered with an earnest baritone, accompanied by acoustic guitar, harmonica, pedal steel guitar, stand up bass, and a friendly stage presence. Admission is $10/pp.

What: Rooftop Yoga at The Stork Club
When: Sunday, August 11 at 11am
Where: 2 Chapel Avenue
The Stork Club is a rooftop bar located at Hudson House (above Felina Steak). Today, the rooftop bar is hosting an hour-long outdoor yoga class led by Urban Souls. The event is open to non-members ($30/pp) and members ($24/pp). It’ll be followed by mimosas at the bar.
