What: Departed Soles 5-Year Tasting Room Anniversary

Departed Soles is celebrating the 5-year anniversary of its tasting room. To celebrate, the brewery is releasing three new beers — including a gluten-free beer. Plus, they’ll have hoodies, shirts, and other merch available for sale.

What: The Fest for Beatles Fans
When: Friday, October 9 from 5pm to 11pm

The Fest for Beatles Fans is a music festival that celebrates everything about The Beatles. This year, the festival falls on what would have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday. The virtual festival will include appearances by fellow musicians, artists, family members, friends, and associates from the Beatles world. Tickets are $20/pp and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Spirit Foundation and Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

Where: Grove Plaza
Bike JC is hosting a special bike ride that will travel across both sides of the waterfront. Ride from Grove to Exchange Place, where riders will take the NY Waterway to Battery Park. Then ride from Battery Park to 39th Street, where riders will once again take the ferry to Weehawken. Then bike your way back down to Jersey City. The ride is free, but you’ll have to pay your own ferry tickets ($16 total).

What: Goatchella Act 4 at Harsimus Cemetery
When: Friday, October 9 from 5:30pm to 10pm
Where: 435 Newark Avenue
Goatchella is a socially-distanced evening of live music designed to raise money for the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery. The concert is BYOB and you’re encouraged to bring your own blanket or chair (no pets allowed). Masks will be required for admission. Price is $30/pp.

What: Oktoberfest at Satis Bistro

This is your last weekend to enjoy a 3-course Oktoberfest dinner at Satis. The dinner can be enjoyed at the restaurant or for takeout/delivery. A beer pairing option is also available.

What: The Junto grand reopening

What: Yoga at Canco Park

Kick off your weekend with an hour of outdoor yoga led by Jessica Strickler. The 1-hour class is free and open to all levels. Masks are required and you must bring your own mat.

Where: Lackawanna (16th Street Park)
Ward E Councilman James Solomon, non-profit Keep Jersey City Beautiful, and non-profit Adopt a Block are teaming up Clean Green Jersey City for a 5-week street clean-up campaign that wraps up today at Lackawanna. Meet your neighbors, take in some Vitamin D, and help keep Ward E’s streets clean. (You can sign up via this Google form).

What: Pop-Up Pedestrian Plaza at McGinley Square

Where: Jordan Avenue (from Montgomery to Orchard)
The McGinley Square Pedestrian Plaza is back. The McGinley Square SID has organized another pop-up along Bergen Avenue (from Duncan to Reed). The pop-up will occur Saturday & Sunday from noon till 10pm and will highlight food from local eateries like Guerrero, Coconut Latin Caribbean Grill, ITA Kitchen, and more.

What: Outdoor Fitness Class with Four Fitness
When: Sunday, October 11 at 10am
Where: 686 Bergen Avenue
Burn those weekend calories off with a free fitness class hosted by Four Fitness owner Marcisco Morrison. The outdoor class is designed to work your entire body using your own body weight. Masks will be required and you’ll have to bring your own mat.

What: BattleCat Tea Room Debut
When: Sunday, October 11 from 11am
Where: 364 Grove Street
Coffee speakeasy BattleCat Espresso Bar is debuting its first ever tea room this morning. Reservations are available starting at 11am. The multi-course tasting will be paired with tea sandwiches and pastries. Tickets are $45/pp and reservations can be made via DM on BattleCat’s Instagram account. The tea room is located inside Dullboy.
