August is shaping up to be a busy month for restaurant openings in Jersey City.
Mega-restaurant The Ashford and sister venue Six26 Lounge are both slated to open in the coming weeks.
Located at 145 Newark Avenue — in the heart of the Pedestrian Plaza — the 17,000-square-foot Ashford is expected to open sometime in August, whereas neighboring Six26 is scheduled to open in time for Jersey City’s Pride Festival, which will be held Saturday, August 25.
Both spots are owned by the team behind New York’s Chinese Tuxedo and Hoboken’s former 1 Republik.
In addition to its signature cocktail menu, the LGBTQ-friendly Six26 Lounge will offer a light food menu, rooftop garden, and daily events.
For a full dining experience, the five-level Ashford will offer a modern American menu complete with craft cocktails and an extensive beer and wine list. It’ll also boast the largest rooftop in Jersey City along with a rooftop raw bar.
