After months of silence, Taqueria Mexico City has finally opened at 228 Newark Avenue. The restaurant is located in the former home of Goody Chinese & Spanish takeout on the corner of Coles and Newark Avenue.
Despite its name, Taqueria Mexico City doesn’t just focus on tacos. Instead, you’ll find a diverse menu with food from all regions of Mexico. Its menu includes a mix of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options such as memelas, sopes, tortas, and chilaquiles — just to name a few. Prices are very affordable in the $5 to $14 range and most orders include three servings (three tacos, three sopes, etc).

Taqueria Mexico City is open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm. (They’re also open through 11pm Thursday through Saturday). The Mexican eatery is the latest in a string of new restaurants opening throughout Jersey City.
