Put those healthy New Year’s resolutions on hold. Taco Bar JC is bringing delicious Mexican eats to McGinley Square. Located at 684 Bergen Avenue, Taco Bar JC is the latest eatery by the team behind neighboring ITA Kitchen and Carvao.
The tiny eatery, which opened last month (as spotted by JC Families), is housed inside a former Chinese take-out restaurant. Its menu consists of tacos, bocados (bites/appetizers), and cocktails/drinks. You can get a trio of tacos for $11-$12, whereas a single taco costs $5. Taco Bar JC offers vegan tacos, shrimp, carne asada, pollo con mole, and spicy sausage tacos. Like any modern taco joint, the eatery also offers birria tacos along with birria ramen.
Bocados include your usual chips and ceviche options along with Mexican street corn. Meanwhile, the cocktail menu has a wide mix of tequila- and Mezcal-based drinks alongside Mexican beers and margaritas. It’s also worth noting that the restaurant carries Mexican wines. (Yes, you read that right). They offer Pavo Real and Chateau Domecq. (If anyone has tried them, please let us know what you think).
Taco Bar JC is open 7pm to 12am Mondays through Saturdays. However, we recommend following them on IG for any updates on their hours.
