The St Peter’s Peacocks made history last month. Not only were they the first 15-seed to make it to the Elite Eight round in the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, but for the past few weeks they also managed to unite the entire city of Jersey City.
Bars throughout the city were packed like pre-Covid times as fans — both old and new — gathered to cheer on the Jersey City underdogs. Although the team’s Cinderella story came to an end in Philly against the North Carolina Tar Heels, Mayor Steven Fulop has confirmed the Peacocks’ unprecedented NCAA run will be celebrated with a city parade.
“You showed the best of our city to the world and we love you for that,” tweeted Mayor Fulop.
St. Peter’s Peacocks Parade — date, route and time
