Newark Avenue is undergoing some serious changes, and the latest retailer to move into the downtown neighborhood is none other than…Spirit Halloween. The costume shop is taking over the old Sleep Cheap Furniture store on 155 Newark Avenue between Grove and Barrow. According to the posters on the store’s windows, the retailer is currently hiring, although from the looks of the interior, they might have some more work ahead of them. As for what they will sell after Halloween, personally I’m thinking it’ll be along the lines of Ricky’s in New York. No official word on when the store will open, but you can rest assured it’ll be in time to take advantage of the early Halloween shoppers and Jersey City’s own Halloween Bash (assuming we have another one this year).
