A new co-working space just opened in Jersey City and chances are you’ve probably had dinner there recently.
New York-based Spacious just announced a partnership with Talde to turn the Top Chef’s Erie Street restaurant into a massive co-working space during the restaurant’s off-hours.
The concept behind Spacious is both simple and brilliant. The company makes use of empty restaurants by offering them up to freelancers and remote workers. That way restaurants — many of which don’t open till 5pm — don’t sit empty during the day. Spacious charges $95 per month for unlimited access to all locations. Participating restaurants also get a profit share every month.
For members, Spacious is an alternative to the crowded coffee shop with spotty Wi-Fi. Two Spacious hosts manage the space during co-working hours to ensure that there’s plenty of coffee and tea for all members. They set up and break down each morning and evening, and also act as concierge for members and their guests.
In New York, Spacious already operates at multiple high-end restaurants including Boqueria, The Stanton Social, Aldea, Cafe Medi, and Bar Primi. Talde is Spacious’ first foray into Jersey City.
Spacious at Talde is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30am to 5pm. A free 1-week trial is also available.
