Health cafe and eatery Short Grain has announced that it will soon open a new storefront called Tidal Poke Co. The cafe first tested its new poke bowl concept during this summer’s Project Eats festival.
Poke (pronounced POH-keh) is a Hawaiian dish usually consisting of raw, cubed fish served with a variety of seasonings. As The Huffington Post puts it, think of it as deconstructed sushi. Naturally, there are many variations from the classic, but generally the protein-packed bowls are supposed to be healthy, so it’s no surprise to see Short Grain expand in that direction.
There’s still no address or opening date, but Short Grain claims it should be “coming soon.” —Short Grain, Tidal Poke Co.
