Scale Fish Market is opening a raw bar inside its shop. The fish market, which opened on January 19, also has plans to add outdoor seating when the weather gets warmer.
Operated by fishmonger and chef Antonio Rodriguez, Scale Fish Market has been a Jersey City farmers market staple since making its debut in the spring of 2021. It specializes in fresh, responsibly sourced seafood. Rodriguez tells us that customers will be able to order from the raw bar and eat inside at Scale’s newly finished mini bar counter. Down the line, Rodriguez envisions doing clambakes and utilizing Scale’s kitchen to offer lobster rolls and other fresh seafood, which customers will be able to enjoy with their own bottle of wine (BYOB).
Currently, customers can enjoy fresh oysters inside the shop. Rodriguez will shuck them for you as well as answer any questions about taste or where they were sourced.
Rodriguez has worked in the seafood industry since 2015. In addition to fresh seafood, the Scale Fish Market menu also offers seafood platters, catering, and pre-made items, such as salmon burgers, chowders, and bisque.
