East Rutherford’s Samurai Sushi is coming to Jersey City. The new BYOB restaurant will open in the former Hooked JC space at 467 Communipaw Avenue, as first spotted by TheFoundryGirlJC.
Samurai Sushi offers a mix of sushi/sashimi, rolls, and ramen bowls. You also have the option between four teriyaki dishes (chicken, salmon, beef, tofu) and unagi don. While they have yet to post their official Jersey City menu, their current online menu doesn’t appear to include liquor of any sort, which means it could be a BYOB restaurant like its predecessor, Hooked.
Hooked JC closed during the summer of 2022. The popular seafood shack was known for its no-frills, but delicious seafood. Since its closing, the restaurant owners have focused their efforts on Cafe Alyce.
