Downtown is no stranger to rooftop bars, but few — if any — come close to offering the views being promised by the Hyatt House’s new Rooftop at Exchange Place.
The last time we saw photos of the outdoor lounge it was still looking rather bare. However, a new website and some fresh new social media accounts are giving us a sneak peek at what the outdoor space will look like when it finally opens in October.
Dubbed the Rooftop at Exchange Place, we know the space will offer unobstructed views of New York with a retractable glass enclosure that can remain open in fair weather and can be closed when temperatures drop.
The bar will seat 150 guests with an overall capacity of 300. It will also feature a cozy fire pit for those soon-to-arrive, chilly autumn nights.
Few details are known about the food/drinks menu, but it appears the lounge will offer X-Tails (extra large cocktails), lunch, and dinner.
This past weekend we noticed signage being added to the Exchange Place entrance of the Hyatt House (pictured below). So while we may not have a rooftop lounge in time for the summer, it appears we’ll have outdoor penthouse drinking in time for the cooler, fall weather.
