A new pizzeria just opened on Newark Avenue. Operated by the team behind neighboring Buon Appetito, Rig A Tony’s is a pint-sized pizza shop that doubles as an Italian deli. The deli part consists of a small counter that sells Italian meats, cheeses, and groceries. They’re located in the former Cookies N’ Crepes spot at 195 Newark Avenue.
Initially we were told Rig A Tony’s would be more old school deli than pizzeria, but at least upon initial launch it appears to be the opposite. The food menu includes all the staples like traditional cheese pizza, Sicilian, Hawaiian, and Buffalo chicken pizza.
There’s also a long list of hot/cold subs, pasta, appetizers, and even a few seafood dishes. Subs can be ordered half or whole and while prices may seem a bit steep for a sub (up to $18 for a whole sub), they do seem bigger than your average sub.
