The rental market around downtown Jersey City is hot, but prospective buyers have had little to go on over the past few years. That’s where 318-328 Newark Avenue comes into the picture. Currently home to Jersey City’s first Food Truck Rally (adjacent to Madame Claude Cafe), the empty lot will be the future home of 318 Newark Avenue, a BGT Enterprises project, which will house 1BR, 2BR, and 3BR luxury condominiums. This appears to be the biggest project for the village neighborhood since the Flats at 327 and 340 Third Street. The proposed design will certainly stick out in the neighborhood (most homes are no more than 4 or 5 stories high), but it’s sure to bring the local shops and restaurants a little extra foot traffic.
