The Port Authority is working to expand the Grove Street platform. As part of the agency’s PATH Improvement Plan, the PA will increase the Grove platform to accommodate nine-car PATH trains on the Nwk-WTC line. (The station currently accommodates eight cars).
Construction began this past weekend with the closure of the Grove PATH station on the Marin/Columbus Drive side. The entrance/exit (next to Sprove Market) will be closed weekends only through May 11.
Grove St Marin Blvd entrance will be closed from 3/7 through 5/11 on wkds from 1am Sat to 5am Mon due to construction for future 9-car train operations along the NWK-WTC line. Use the PATH entrances across Marin Blvd. We apologize for the inconvenience. https://t.co/ySTUx99Wvp pic.twitter.com/ReKZsAtTg8

According to the PA website, the plan is to extend the platform at the east end corridor and replace the current walls with columns. There’s no timeline for when construction will finish.
The other entrance/exit at Grove (the one that faces Duane Reade) is also under construction. The PA is installing “new and improved escalators” along with flood protection measures. That project will wrap up in January of 2022.
