**Pokay Bowl — the new poke spot coming to 283 Newark Avenue — could open in time for Memorial Day weekend. Jersey City Upfront has learned that the restaurant recently passed city inspections and is adding finishing touches before officially opening its doors.

**A downtown bakery founded by ex Nobu pastry chef, Jessica Isaacs, is expanding to Jersey City Heights, reports Jersey Digs. Cocoa Bakery will open in what was formerly Goehrig’s Bakery at 475 Central Avenue. —Jersey Digs
**It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the former Powerhouse Lounge and it now appears the space is being turned into a sprawling restaurant and beer hall called Hudson Hall. Located on Marin between First and Bay, the space — which will apparently specialize in smoked meats — is being rebuilt by the owners of Hoboken’s Pilsener Haus. No word yet on when it could open, but new signage was recently spotted by Mordi’s Food Truck.
