One of Jersey City’s best dive bars — and vegetarian kitchens — has reopened. Pet Shop JC is now partially reopen at 193 Newark Avenue.
The bar is open for pickup and delivery (via GrubHub). You can checkout their takeout menu here. They’re offering a variety of vegetarian treats including Buffalo cauliflower wings, Pet Shop nuggets, Pet Shop bratwürst, and more. On the liquor side, the bar is selling 6- and 12-packs of beer, boilermaker kits, cocktail kits, and bottles of vodka, tequila, and whiskey.

Meanwhile, a few blocks away The Boil Jersey City (8 Erie) is getting ready for its reopening on Thursday, May 7. The Boil is one of Jersey City’s newer restaurants. They had just opened a few weeks before the pandemic caused them to shut down.
The New Orleans-inspired restaurant will offer takeout and delivery. In addition, the restaurant will also offer cocktail kits to go. You can checkout their menu below.
On Friday, May 8, Pokay Bowl (283 Newark Avenue) will open for takeout and delivery. The poké restaurant will initially open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 2pm to 8pm. Diners can order direct or via Grubhub and UberEats. Make sure to give them a follow on Instagram for any updates.
