A lot of new businesses are setting up shop in the Powerhouse Arts District. (Teazzi and Barre3 are just a few). The latest to open in the area is New York-based restaurant Peppercorn Station. Located at 120 Morgan Street, the restaurant is currently in soft open mode.
Peppercorn Station specializes in food from China’s Sichuan region. Sichuan cuisine is known for its bold flavors and for the Sichuan peppercorn, a fragrant spice that creates a mouth-numbing sensation. That’s not to say every dish at Peppercorn Station packs intense heat. The menu is actually pretty diverse and broken up into small/large plates, veggie dishes, rice dishes, noodles, and soups. Sample dishes include mung bean noodles in chili oil, dan dan noodles, mapo tofu, crab meat sauce noodles, and sliced beef with ox tongue in chili sauce.
There’s also a sizable lunch menu, dessert, and drinks (non-alcoholic). Peppercorn Station Jersey City is open Mondays through Thursdays from 11:30am to 9:30pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30am to 10pm; and Sundays from 11:30am to 9:30pm.
