More than 2,500 runners are expected to descend on Town Square next month for one of the tri-state area’s most scenic races.
Held on Sunday, September 16, the 25th Annual Ruth’s Chris Steak House Newport Liberty Half Marathon is a USA Track and Field-certified course that takes runners through parts of downtown, the waterfront, Paulus Hook, and Liberty State Park.
The 13.1-mile race is mostly flat (there is one noticeable incline toward the end as you head up Grand street) with a good chunk of the race taking place inside Liberty State Park. Throughout the race you get to enjoy awesome views of New York City, the Statue of Liberty, and of course multiple Jersey City neighborhoods.
Jersey City Upfront is partnering with the 25th Annual Ruth’s Chris Steak House Newport Liberty Half Marathon and we’re giving away one free entry to this year’s race. Make sure to follow our Instagram account for more details and your chance to win.
Otherwise, registration — which is currently open — costs $55/pp online or $65/pp if you register the morning of the race. Proceeds of the race are donated to the Jersey City Medical Center.
