On Saturday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced a statewide “stay at home” executive order to flatten the curve of COVID-19 infections and to provide some relief for New Jersey’s first responders.
“We know the virus spreads through person-to person contact, and the best way to prevent further exposure is to limit our public interactions to only the most essential purposes,” said Gov. Murphy in a written statement. “This is a time for us all to come together in one mission to ‘flatten the curve’ and slow — and eventually halt — the spread of coronavirus.”
Here’s a breakdown of what that means for us in Jersey City (and throughout New Jersey for that matter). Info is via New Jersey’s COVID-19 info hub.

Can you exercise outside or go for a walk?
Yes, just practice social distancing.
TLDR; stay at home as much as you possibly can, physically distance yourself from people, you can still go out to buy food/exercise/get fresh air, wash your hands, cover your mouth if you cough/sneeze, and wash your hands again.
What about ppl working in supermarkets that are exposed to over 500 or more customers totally exposed to so many ppl every day..
Construction workers??
I’m open to an explanation of how it’s essential.
Yes my question as well and what type of construction worker government or general contractor working on their own house or someone’s else’s? Please explain more..

So, I went food shopping for the long haul on Friday. I’m 68 years old. First there was the 1/2 mile walk up. I go in and get my items. At checkout my foodstamp card had a “reading error”. $150 balance, but a reading error. Put it all back. Now I have to take a bus to Journal Square, walk to Corneliuson avenue, hope they’re open, and fix my card. It’s Sunday, I’M hungry, no symptoms (yet). I expect to be sitting in the Foodstamp office for hours with my compromised immune system. Any ideas?
Do you have internet access at home? Have you tried the SNAP website or perhaps calling them first before physically going to the office. If it’s a “reading error” perhaps it can be fixed with a phone call? Here’s a link to their website: https://www.nj.gov/humanservices/njsnap/
I called SNAP as soon as I got back from the store. La Placita, on 48th street WOULD NOT do it manually, or didn’t know how to. When I called SNAP, I was told to go to their office at 730 am today, Monday. New wrinkle, no bus fare.
Sorry to hear of your troubles. My daughter and I are willing to assist you with shopping and errands once you get your card fixed. Also there is a way for a store cashier/or manager to manually input your card information.
How are wicker stores the essential

Exactly.
Cuz that is the government money and you know they’re going to get their money first
