**Despite its increasing debt — which includes annual PATH deficits of $400 million — the Port Authority recently said that it would not increase fares or tolls to fund new projects, such as the bus terminal revamp and the new Hudson rail train. To raise money, the agency said it may raise retail/store rents and possibly sell certain real estate, including the World Trade Center. —Bloomberg
**New Jersey residents who commute into Penn Station will soon have a new fast food option at their disposal. The New York Post reports that Shake Shack just signed a 10-year lease for a 2,489-square-foot space located inside one of the underground concourses at Penn Station. **NJ Transit is completing the installation of video and audio surveillance equipment on its Light Rail trains. According to the Jersey Journal, surveillance equipment costs $1.9 million to install on the Hudson-Bergen and Newark light rail trains. The cost is funded by a Homeland Security grant. —NJ.com
**BGT Enterprises is building a new, 59-unit condo building at 387 8th Street, the former Amcare site. The new, 7-story building will be designed by Minervini Vandermark Architecture and will include 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedrooms units, some with a terrace or balcony.
