Mother’s Day is just around the corner and downtown Jersey City has a variety of unique ways to help you celebrate all things mom related. From a delicious brunch overlooking the New York skyline to a gelato-making class — here’s a list of fun ways you can pamper mom on her special day.
Battello: Treat mom to the ultimate Mother’s Day experience at Battello. The Newport restaurant is offering both buffet and prix fixe lunches from 10:30am till 3pm with live jazz starting at 11:30am. Or you can treat her to a full upscale dinner from 5pm to 9pm. Reservations start at $39 per adult, $20 for children.
Bucket & Bay Brunch: Looking for a unique take on brunch? Bucket & Bay Craft Gelato is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch and Gelato-Making demo for you and your mom. The brunch includes poached eggs, French toast, mimosas, artisanal cheeses, a gelato flight, and a gelato-making demo. Reservations are required and tickets cost $75/pp.
Midnight Market: Some moms like to bake, others like to party till midnight, so why not treat her to a night of indulgence at Midnight Market Brunch Edition. Tickets are $5/pp and all plates and drinks are priced at a $5 maximum.
Satis Bistro: Satis Bistro is extending its hours on Mother’s Day and will operate from 10am till 10pm. Reservations are recommended, so it’s better to play it safe.
Taphaus: The breathtaking views are just part of the experience at Taphaus. The waterfront biergarten is also offering a special Mother’s Day menu with surf and turf specials that are bound to please any mom. Reservations are required and space is limited, so make sure to book early.
Van Hook Cheese: Forget the last-minute Hallmark card. Now that you’re an adult, it’s time you treat mom right and there’s no better way of doing that than with a handmade gift. Van Hook Cheese is offering DIY crates of fine cheeses, teas, and sweets you can gift to your mom. And unlike the card, this gift can keep on giving beyond Mother’s Day.
Nothing says I love you like a box full of sweets and downtown has no shortage of excellent bakeries and dessert shops. Cocoa Bakery, Carmen Rosa Bakery, Jersey City Sweets, L’atelier du Chocolat, Milk Sugar Love, and Torico’s are offering a variety of ready to pickup and custom made cakes, ice cream cakes, and sweets. We just recommend you place your order early.
Last but not least — Mother’s Day wouldn’t be complete without flowers. Local flower shops Bouquets & Baskets, Brennan’s Florist, and Casa Mona have a variety of ready made and DIY arrangements you can pick up between now and Mother’s Day.
