A popular Jersey City eatery is expanding to New York City. Frankie owners Rowen McDermott and Rebecca Johnson are opening Moon Flower in the West Village. The wine bar will take over the space previously occupied by Vin Sur Vingt at 201 West 11th Street, reports Eater.
Moon Flower will be a natural wine bar specializing in small batch wines from indie producers. McDermott and Johnson also plan to offer small plates at Moon Flower utilizing seasonal ingredients from nearby Union Square Farmer’s Market and “dock to dish” seafood purveyors.
At 400 square feet, Moon Flower will be considerably smaller than Frankie (which is on our guide to best brunch in Jersey City). However, it’ll feature a similarly bright and playful interior design with a nod to the Bohemian spirit of the West Village. It’ll also include a few Jersey City touches such as framed art pieces from Deep Space Gallery and floral installations from Casa Mona.
Moon Flower will be open from 12pm to 2am Tuesdays through Sundays. The wine bar is expected to open in early 2022.
