ME Casa Jersey City

ME Casa is back in Jersey City.

After quietly closing its doors in June, we spotted the ME Casa Express food truck along Columbus Drive and got the full scoop from chef and owner, Eddie Cotto, Jr.

Cotto tells Jersey City Upfront that the ME Casa food truck will be operating weekdays from 11am to 9:30pm. The first shift (11am to 2:30pm) will take place along the waterfront on Hudson Street and Sussex.

In the evening (from 5:30pm to 9:30pm), you’ll find ME Casa parked outside 70 Columbus (on the opposite side of Base gym). Cotto tells us that his plan is to get the ME Casa food truck operating 7 days a week.

In the not to distant future, Cotto hopes to operate the truck as late as 2:30am on Saturday nights, giving the Jersey City nightlife one more food option. There will also be a delivery option, so if you don’t live near the truck you can have ME Casa’s food delivered straight to your door.

The food truck offers the same dishes found in the former ME Casa restaurant. That includes their tasty mofongos, empanadas, alcapurrias, and more.

Meanwhile, ME Casa’s former space at 109 Columbus Drive will soon turn into Tribos Peri Peri. The Saddle Brook-based restaurant specializes in spicy piri piri chicken dishes as well as pitas, wraps, burgers, and falafel. Tribos Peri Peri expects to open sometime this month.

You can follow ME Casa’s locations and hours via their Instagram account.
