Mathews is about to double down on its veggies. The Grove Street restaurant is updating its menu to include a hearty list of vegan friendly options.
To its credit, Mathews has included vegan options since day one. However, the Southern-inspired restaurant is now teaming up with the Jersey City Vegan Project to offer a wider array of vegan entrees with the goal of having at least one vegan special on their rotating menu. Their current menu has four vegan dishes.
The restaurant plans to educate staff on their vegan options and they’ve gone so far as to name their vegan beers (there are currently five on the menu) and wines.
They’ve also listed all of their vegan lunch and dinner offerings, alongside a list of which entrees can be prepared vegan.
I was vegan throughout college and I can attest that when prepped correctly, vegan food can be absolutely delicious. I’ve no doubt Mathews will nail this one. Well done, Mathews!
