Update: Luigi’s Speakeasy will open its doors this Friday & Saturday from 6pm to 12am and again on Sunday from 5pm to 10pm. Alcohol-infused flavors include Hennessy & Pineapple and Godiva Dark Liqueur Rolled Ice Cream.
Luigi’s Ice Cream is opening Jersey City’s first ice cream speakeasy inside Ani Ramen this week.
The “speakeasy” will be located inside Ani Ramen’s 218 Newark Avenue restaurant. This will be Luigi’s first storefront in Jersey City, and from the looks of it — you can expect to find at least one alcohol-infused flavor at the forthcoming shop. Combine that with Ani Ramen’s whiskey bible, and you’ve got a match made in ice cream heaven.
Although this is Luigi’s first storefront in Jersey City, the ice cream pros are no stranger to the area. Their dessert truck has been a staple at many local events serving up Luigi’s signature ice cream buns and more. Earlier this summer, Ani Ramen and Luigi’s also teamed up for an ice cream pop-up right outside the Newark Avenue restaurant.
Currently, Luigi’s has storefronts in Red Bank and Metuchen.
