Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics Coming to Jersey City

As a pet parent, one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make is whether to have your pet spayed or neutered.

For some, the procedure is simple and quick. But for others, it can be a financial hardship.

To help low income families care for their pets, Jaclyn Fulop and Drew Nussbaum (pictured center) — co-owners of Exchange Physical Therapy Group — are teaming up with the Liberty Humane Society to create Jersey City’s first low-cost spay and neuter R/V.

For the first year of the program, the Liberty Humane Society will partner with People For Animals (PFA) in Hillside, NJ, which will bring their R/V to Jersey City twice a month. Vets would charge eligible residents only $10 to have their pet spayed/neutered.

To raise funds for the program’s first year, the Exchange Physical Therapy Group is throwing a fundraiser at Corgi Spirits this Wednesday. The goal is to raise enough funds to cover the first year of the program, which will cost approximately $25,000. The fundraiser also hopes to create an ongoing donor base for subsequent years of the program.

Admission to the fundraiser is $25/pp. It’ll take place at the Corgi Spirits tasting room from 7:30pm to 9:30pm on Wednesday, March 21.
