351 Marin kicks off leasing

Leasing has just started at 351 Marin — a new 38-story complex that towers over Marin Boulevard. Developed by KRE Group and Northwestern Mutual, the new tower brings 507 residences to Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District. The building offers a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with monthly rents for studio homes starting from $2,650. Grand opening incentives include two free months on a 14-month lease or three free months on a 26-month lease. Initial occupancy is scheduled for December 1, 2021.

City unveils statue celebrating Mary McLeod Bethune

Mary McLeod Bethune StatueCity officials recently unveiled a 9-foot bronze statue celebrating civil rights leader Mary McLeod Bethune. The statue is the first monument in the city to honor an African American woman. It’s also one of the highlights in the newly constructed $3.5 million Bethune Park. The park includes an amphitheater/concert stage, open-air pavilion, shaded seating area, gaming tables, a playground, and exercise equipment. The park will be used for recreation, celebrations, farmers’ markets, and other community events. It’s located across the street from the Bethune Center.

A new Rent.com survey named Jersey City as the third-best city for donut lovers in the country. The survey looked at the proportion of donut businesses in a city, donut businesses per capita, and donut businesses per density. Jersey City came in third behind Worcester, MA, (first) and Rochester, NY, (second). Pictured is The LoDG in the Heights.
