Forget about Alexa. There’s a new on-demand assistant in town and unlike Amazon’s virtual AI, this one can do your laundry, pick up your dry cleaning, and even tidy your apartment.
Created by Harvard Business School grads Marcela Sapone and Jessica Beck, Hello Alfred is a platform that provides hotel-like concierge services for luxury buildings. New Jersey-based KRE Group will be the first developer in Jersey City — and the Garden State — to exclusively offer this amenity.
Via the Hello Alfred app you can request someone to do your laundry while you’re not home, buy your groceries for the week, pick up a bottle of your favorite wine, or set up your Christmas tree. Each Hello Alfred staff member — or “Alfred” — is highly trained and vetted by the company. They’re also employees of the company, and not hired freelancers.
“This innovative, service-based amenity will support renters with routine tasks, freeing up more time to focus on the things they enjoy most, and to get out and explore their new neighborhood,” said Jonathan Kushner, President of KRE Group, in a written statement.
Residents of KRE Group’s Journal Squared tower will be the first in the state of New Jersey to test out the service. Prices range based on the task you require, but something like cleaning your studio or one-bedroom apartment starts at around $70.
Hello Alfred is already available in New York, Boston, and San Francisco. KRE Group will bring Hello Alfred to its other Jersey City properties including Grove Pointe, 225 Grand, and 18 Park, in the first quarter of 2018.
