Ferris High School is now administering COVID-19 vaccines in downtown Jersey City. Located at 35 Colgate Street, Ferris is the second of six planned Jersey City COVID vaccine sites. All six sites — one in each ward — will be operated by Bespoke Health.

“I am proud to share that last week, we opened the second of those six locations with the new site located at Ferris High School,” said Fulop in his newsletter blast. Fulop also shared that Jersey City is now receiving an increased dosage of COVID-19 vaccines from the state. When the city’s vaccination program first started, Jersey City was getting approximately 500 doses per week. As of last week, Jersey City is getting 2,500 doses (it’s highest count to date).

City officials have also been working with civic group JCTogether on a new initiative to have churches, mosques, and temples facilitate sign-ups for vaccines. This program is expected to bring an additional 3,000 vaccines to Jersey City starting next week. These doses are in addition to the doses being administered by Rite Aid.

The city now has multiple vaccination options throughout all wards. (You can see them all on the city’s website). You must schedule an appointment by calling (201) 547-5688 or (201) 373-2316. (Note: we attempted to call the first number 12 times on Tuesday and kept getting a busy signal or error message. Keep trying).

As of early March, Jersey City has administered 6,531 doses of the Moderna vaccine, with 5,243 being first doses and 1,288 being second doses.
