Here’s what you need to know for Tuesday, April 21:

1: Confirmed coronavirus cases in Jersey City now stand at 3,194 (up from 2,972). On Sunday, April 19, Jersey City saw its largest one-day spike of new COVID-19 cases (313 total in one day). It’s worth noting that this past weekend was also the first time Greenville had access to free testing (via the new testing site at the Bethune Center), which could be the reason behind the spike in new cases. 2: A new executive order from Gov. Phil Murphy requires buses, trains, and Light Rail cars to maintain 50% capacity so that commuters can practice social distancing. As a result, NJ Transit released a new bus schedule effective immediately. —NorthJersey.com

3: New Jersey currently has 88,806 positive COVID-19 cases (up from 85,301) with 4,377 deaths (up from 4,202). —NJ Dept. of Health

4: Gov. Phil Murphy will soon announce the benchmarks by which he expects to reopen New Jersey. He’s not actually reopening the state, but simply announcing where we need to be statistically before reopening.

5: Cangiano’s Jersey City is now open at 225 Pavonia Avenue. The marketplace is open 7 days a week and sells pasta, fresh produce, cold cuts, bagels, sandwiches, and bread. The market also includes a butcher counter.

  • Jersey City has two coronavirus testing facilities open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm.

  • A walk-up center is located at the Bethune Center at 140 MLK Drive.
  • A drive-thru testing facility is located at 575 Route 440.
