Police estimated as many as 3,000 people showed up to Tuesday night’s candle light vigil, filling the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza from Erie Street almost down to Grove Street. Jonathan Lucas, chair of local LGBT group Hudson Pride Connections Center, described the crowd as “miles and miles of love.” —NJ.com
