Inaugural Jersey City Summit on Development, Place-making & Innovation to Discuss Arts, Transportation, Growth, and More This Wednesday

This Wednesday, Jersey City’s leading thinkers and stakeholders will gather at St. Peter’s University for the inaugural Jersey City Jersey City Summit on Economic Development, Place-making & Innovation — a series of panels that will discuss everything Jersey City, from local arts to sustainability.

Speakers will include:

  • Marcos Vigil: Deputy Mayor Jersey City
  • Paul Hoffman: President & CEO of Liberty Science Center
  • Brian Platt: Chief Innovation Officer City of Jersey City
  • Sam Pesin: President of Friends of Liberty State Park
  • Olga Levina: Founder of Jersey City Theater Center
  • Tamara Remedios: Founder of Hudson Restaurant Week
  • Rachel Sieg: Executive Director of Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (SID)

The summit runs from 7.30am to 6pm and will include panels on:

  • Sustainability: (current initiatives, LEED certified buildings, Hudson River and storm resiliency)
  • Transportation: (biking, car sharing, Gateway Project, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail expansion)
  • Parks & Open Spaces: (current projects and initiatives, quality of life for residents/businesses)
  • Special Improvement Districts: (the role of SIDs in neighborhood revitalization)
  • Creative & Cultural Gatherings: (the role markets, festivals, tours, concerts, and fairs have in catalyzing development and growth)
