Japanese restaurant Ichiban to Go is now open in the Heights. Located at 365 Palisade Avenue, the restaurant is focusing on takeout and delivery.
Ichiban Japanese Catering is a family-owned sushi catering business that has covered events in New York and New Jersey for the past 20+ years. (You can check out our interview with owner Jessica Chuang). Their Jersey City take out location offers a full menu of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, and platters. Ichiban also offers some unique dishes like a sushi burger, ramen tacos, and sushi pizza. (You can check out the full menu here).
Vegetarian offerings will also be available, including items like an Avocado & Honey Nut Roll, a Spicy Night Maki (topped with kimchi), and a Vegetarian Naruto Roll. The restaurant will also offer platters that feed up to six people.
Jersey.City.Heights first spotted them in June and their Heights location opened on Tuesday, September 1. The restaurant’s hours are Sundays through Thursdays from 12pm to 8pm and Fridays through Saturdays from 12pm to 9pm. They’re normally closed on Tuesdays (except for their grand opening, which will be held on a Tuesday).
Ichiban to Go recently launching direct ordering from their website. They’re also regularly updating their menu with new items like the Ichiban to Go Tuna Tataki (below). The pepper-crusted tuna is served on a bed of greens and topped with tobiko and scallions.
