Hybrid Coffee is now open in downtown Jersey City. The cafe recently opened at 398 Manila between 2nd and 3rd streets.
Coffee lovers can expect a menu of espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, single-origin pour overs, nitro cold brew, and lattes. The cafe also carries made-to-order lunch and brunch items including Hybrid Coffee’s loaded avocado toast, brioche French toast, açaí bowls, granola bowls, waffles, and more. There’s also outdoor seating if you prefer to enjoy your coffee al fresco.
We especially like the avocado toast, which is served on a thick-cut slice of bread with seasoned avocado, almond slivers, feta cheese, and a drizzle of sriracha and honey. The Hybrid waffle is another excellent dish. The waffle itself is crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It’s topped with fresh blueberries, strawberries, pecans, and whipped cream.
Owner and Jersey City native Evan Santiago launched Hybrid Coffee a few years back as a mobile coffee bar situated outside the Exchange Place PATH station. In 2019, Santiago opened the first Hybrid Coffee brick-and-mortar cafe in the Heights, which quickly became a favorite amongst locals. However, the Heights cafe closed in June as Hybrid Coffee relocated downtown.
