As restaurants and bars throughout Jersey City prepare for their grand reopening, one spot is preparing to open for the very first time. Grace O’Malley’s is a new Irish pub opening at 140 Newark Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by LITM.
Signage for the pub rapidly appeared Monday morning along with a fresh coat of paint. Grace O’Malley’s could open as early as this weekend for cocktails. A lager menu will roll out in the coming weeks. (You can follow them on Instagram for any updates).
The pub is named after Ireland’s pirate queen. O’Malley was known for being a powerful and independent woman who broke free of the conventional norms of the time.
