Healthy, summer treats are coming to Newport. Frutta Bowls Jersey City is a new, health-focused cafe specializing in bowls made with superfoods like açaí and kale.
The brainchild of Brooke Gagliano, the small, family-run shop originally launched in 2016 in Freehold, NJ. Since opening her first shop, Gagliano has expanded her cafe to other parts of the country including Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia. This will be Frutta Bowls first storefront in Jersey City.
Frutta Bowls only uses organic ingredients in their bowls. Their signature bowl, the Frutta Bowl, is made with organic açai berries, banana, granola, strawberries, pineapples, kiwis, Nutella, peanut butter, honey, and coconut flakes.
In addition to açaí bowls, Frutta Bowls will also offer pitaya, kale, and oatmeal bowls. Customers will also be able to order a variety of toasts, including a mouth-watering Bravocado Toast. It’s made with sundried tomato pesto, egg, red pepper flakes, and avocado. The shop will also offer gluten-free bread upon request.
The Newport spot will be located at 100 Town Square Place, in what was formerly a leasing office for Newport rentals. (The Newport leasing office has since moved across the street). Frutta Bowls will be located just a few steps from neighboring Sweetberry Newport, which recently announced it will soon offer poké bowls.
Frutta Bowls Jersey City will soft open in September and is currently in the process of hiring staff. You can follow their progress via their Instagram.
