Two of our favorite Jersey City spots are reopening later this month. Junto Attic Bar (68 Mercer) will reopen on Monday, October 21, whereas Franklin Social (292 Barrow) will reopen on Monday, October 28. Both venues have been closed after a fire broke out in the courtyard at Franklin Social back in January 2024.

Owned and operated by Skopos Hospitality, Franklin Social is a modern American tavern serving tasty dishes and some of Jersey City’s best cocktails. Chef Ross Tan will be offering favorites like the Fried Chicken Lollipops (hot honey, blue cheese) and Chili Rock Shrimp (sriracha aioli, toasted sesame seeds). Fans of Franklin Social can also expect to see new menu items such as:

  • Tuna Tartare (furikake, yuzu ponzu, avocado, nori chips, tobiko)
  • Creamy Shrimp Carbonara (shrimp broth, chili garlic oil, parmigiano, chives)
  • Pan Seared Duck (blueberry hoisin sauce, yam puree, brussel sprouts, frisée salad)
  • Pork Belly Bao Buns (hoisin sauce, cucumber, scallion, pickled carrots)

On the cocktail side, you can expect to see the return of classics like Nerdy Bartender Things (Suntory Whisky Toki, St. George Spiced Pear, Pear Shrub, Pineapple, Almond, Lemon, Angostura Bitters), crafted by lead bartender Shawn Baggett.

Nestled above Franklin Social is the Junto Attic Bar. The hidden speakeasy is modeled after Benjamin Franklin’s original social club, providing a cozy, intimate setting for some of downtown’s best cocktails. We’ve been fans of Junto since it’s opening and can’t wait to see their new menu.

It’s also worth noting that Miracle on Mercer will return starting on November 12. Make sure to follow Frank Social on Instagram for any forthcoming updates.
