FM To Become a Space For Live Music

FM Restaurant as you know it is gone. Starting Thursday, February 1, FM will become a music destination for bands near and far.

As we reported yesterday, the entire concept behind FM is being tweaked and today more details have come to light.

Leading FM’s transformation in the kitchen is Ed Snyder of Ed & Mary’s (formerly 9th & Coles). Snyder will relaunch FM’s food menu with options designed to be more budget friendly. Anthony Susco, who has been booking bands for events such as Groove on Grove, The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s, and countless other music events throughout Jersey City, will be in charge of the music and entertainment. Meanwhile, Alan Rudolph — formerly of Hoboken’s the Gold Hawk — remains owner of FM.

“After squeezing sound systems into a Toyota Prius for the past many years, I am happy to announce that come February, Dancing Tony will again have an indoor stage downtown,” writes Susco on his website.

“Between us we have three people interested in expanding the music and art community here in Jersey City. Combining our talents and networks to change FM’s tune.”

So what are the changes you can expect? Well, first of all FM will now have a stage and a built-in sound system, so expect live music, trivia, DJ nights, and live band karaoke. As far as the food is concerned, Susco writes that “Ed will be transforming the menu at FM to fit a musician’s budget, but with artists taste.”
