Burger fans will soon have a new lunch option along the waterfront. The Five Guys location on Washington Street is now closed and the new Five Guys storefront at 101 Hudson will open soon.
A note at the former Five Guys location on Washington Street states that the new location will open the week of October 21. The Five Guys logo/signage has also been removed from the Washington street shop.
Now that the entire Harborside 4A space is vacant, it’s expected that work will begin on the forthcoming Whole Foods Jersey City. Neighboring HopsScotch — which closed in February of 2018 — has remained intact since it closed. (You can still see half-finished liquor bottles along the bar’s windows).
The new Five Guys shop will be located at 101 Hudson on the corner of Hudson and York. It’s the latest eatery to open up along the waterfront, which is experiencing a bit of a food resurgence. In the past few months we’ve seen the opening of Bluestone Lane, Nukkad, and DomoDomo.
