A new bar is coming to the Jersey City Pedestrian Plaza. Don’t Tell Liv is a speakeasy opening at 138 Newark Avenue. The bar would be located above Oliva Marketplace. The news was first reported by Jersey Digs.
Not a lot is known about the new speakeasy, but Jersey Digs has found that a company called SPNM Corporation is looking to transfer a plenary retail consumption liquor license to 138 Newark Avenue. This type of license lets businesses sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises and it also lets businesses sell alcoholic beverages for consumption off the licensed premises.
Philadelphia’s Raymond Haldeman is working on Don’t Tell Liv and you’ll find a few teaser concepts of the speakeasy on his Instagram. The renderings show a mix of table seating and bar stools along with plenty of exposed brick wall.
Oliva will remain open in its current location. (Earlier this year Falafel Station opened a new storefront inside Oliva). Other new establishments coming to the Pedestrian Plaza include Bareburger and Boots and Bones.
