Dave & Buster’s is coming to Jersey City. The popular arcade- and sports-themed eatery is taking over part of the space formerly occupied by Sears at the Newport Centre Mall, according to NJ.com.
Last week, Sears Jersey City posted on its Facebook page that it’s last New Jersey-based store would soon close. (No official date has been given). Not long after the announcement, NJ.com learned from a source that Dave & Buster’s would “take over a portion of the huge space” left behind by Sears, which occupied two floors at the mall.
If you’re not familiar with Dave & Buster’s, it’s essentially an entertainment and dining chain that invites guests to “eat, drink, play and watch.” There are over 140 locations nationwide with the first location opening back in 1982 in Dallas, TX. Each Dave & Buster’s has a full food menu with everything from wings to steaks. There’s also a premium bar, a wide assortment of arcade games, and giant HDTVs with stadium sound.
There’s no word yet on when the Jersey City Dave & Buster’s could open, but we’ll be sure to update our post when we hear news.
