Local ice cream shop Cryo Cream has announced it will permanently close this Saturday, April 3. The shop, which specializes in liquid nitrogen-based ice cream, was spearheaded by pastry chef Matt Marotto.
A frequent guest on Food Network shows such as Holiday Wars, Marotto opened Cryo Cream back in July of 2019. Prior to opening the shop, Cryo Cream was a popular participant at local festivals including Midnight Market and the All About Downtown Food Festival.
Marotto’s seasonal cryo creations ranged from the popular Glampfire sundae (made with Graham cracker ice cream) to a ginger bread nitro-infused ice cream. The shop also offered a breakfast menu complete with egg and cheese tacos, brioche French toast, and single-sourced Central American coffee.
In his Instagram post announcing the closure, Marotto thanked friends, customers, and “customers that became friends” for supporting Cryo Cream over the last two years.
Cryo Cream is located at 413 Monmouth (between 4th and 3rd Street) and will close Saturday at 9pm.
