**A 22-year-old man was shot in downtown Jersey City early Sunday morning. The Jersey Journal reports that at around 12.30am on Sunday police were transporting two prisoners near Fourth Street and Manila when they heard nearby shots fired. One of the officers chased the alleged shooter down Erie Street, but the suspect managed to escape and drop what appeared to be a handgun down a sewer drain. Police used a pump to find the weapon, but were unable to recover anything. Minutes later, a 22-year-old man walked into Jersey City Medical Center with a non life-threatening gunshot, which police believe to be related to this incident. **A small boat partially sank Sunday morning while docked in the Morris Canal causing fuel to discharge into the Hudson, reports The Jersey Journal. The disabled boat was reported sometime before 9:30am. The United States Coast Guard is investigating the incident. —NJ.com
