French cafe Choc-o-Pain opens new shop in Journal Square

The cafe is located inside new luxury rental Le Leo

Choc-o-Pain Jersey CityFrench cafe Choc-o-Pain has officially opened its fifth cafe in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood. Owner Clemence Danko debuted the new cafe at 244 St. Pauls Avenue inside new luxury rental building Le Léo.

“Thanks to the loyalty of our customers, we’ve experienced steady expansion since opening the first Choc-O-Pain in Hoboken in 2012,” said Danko. “We’re excited to be a part of the burgeoning Journal Square scene, while providing a special amenity to Le Léo’s residents.”

Guests can look forward to Choc-o-Pain’s award-winning breads, French pastries, tarts, cakes, and croissants. The Le Leo cafe will also offer lunch items, gluten-free eats, and vegan/vegetarian friendly specials. Artisanal chocolates, macarons, candies, and Alain Milliat jams will also be available. Back in 2017, Choc-o-Pain expanded to the Heights with its Palisade Avenue location.

The new Journal Square cafe will be open weekdays from 7am to 5pm and weekends from 8am to 5pm. Choc-o-Pain holds a spot in our list of the best cafes in Jersey City. The  Journal Square cafe will join other exciting projects in the area including the renovation of the Loew’s Theater and forthcoming Parisian museum, Pompidou Jersey City.
