Newport’s food scene continues to expand with the arrival of Chinah — a new lunch and dinner spot inside Newport Tower. Joining the recently opened Newport Eats, Chinah focuses on healthy food packed with Chinese influences.
The fast-casual eatery serves customizable bowls and seasonal soups. Each bowl is built around a base (rice or greens) and diners can add from a variety of locally sourced greens, sides (veggies), proteins, and sauces. Chinah also offers a few signature bowls that rotate seasonally.
Their just-launched menu includes items like the Beijing Bowl (baby bok choy, tomatoes and eggs, and Kung Pao chicken) and the Hong Kong Bowl (baby bok choy, steamed red yam, and curry beef brisket). They also have a Sichuan bowl (with mapo tofu) and Shanghai bowl with Chinese okra and meatballs. Non-meat eaters can opt for a veggie bowl or a ginger scallion fish fillet bowl.
Bowls start at $7.49 for a small bowl and $9.37 for a large bowl. There are also two soups: the Shanghai veggie soup and a ribs/seaweed soup.
Orders can be placed online, via the in-store kiosks, or in person at Chinah. Inside the restaurant there’s a communal table and a counter area with individual seating. Chinah is open 7 days a week.
