Canard Cafe Bar is now open at 200 Greene Street. The French cafe is located in the former 9 Bar Cafe space inside the Jersey City Urby. The cafe soft opened on March 19.
The new Canard Cafe Bar was founded by Sebastien Muller, Director of Operations for Le District, the French market and food hall in New York’s Brookfield Place. The cafe’s name is inspired by the French custom of canard or dipping a sugar cube in coffee as a treat. For his Jersey City location, Muller will offer a similar curated food and beverage menu as the one featured at Le District.
“With Canard, we’re creating a lively environment for people to enjoy delicious coffee, pastries and bites throughout the day,” says Muller. “We’re thrilled to be opening in the Jersey City Urby where we will be part of a community that can share in our culture and is a hub for the neighborhood to stop in for a coffee, work, or meet with friends.”
