Jersey City is full of great coffee shops and now there’s one more you can add to the list. Cafe Esme recently opened at 485 Marin. (They’re located on 8th Street just off Marin).
The cozy, sun-drenched cafe serves a small menu of breakfast items, sandwiches/panini, and pastries. There’s also a drinks menu that includes tea, coffee, and fresh-made juices.
Drink prices range from $2.75 for a 12-ounce cup of coffee to $4.25 for a latte. Latte flavors include pumpkin spice, lavender, and rose. (You can opt to get almond, soy, or oat milk in place of dairy milk). Plates and sandwiches/panini are $11 to $12, and breakfast items are priced from $3 for a bagel with cream cheese to $7 for eggs with avocado. And, yes, they serve avo toast with goat cheese for $10.95. (We tried it, and it was all sorts of creamy deliciousness).
They’re the latest coffee shop to open in downtown alongside Bluestone Lane and the recently rebranded Semicolon Cafe.
Cafe Esme is open seven days a week and is located next to Marin Green. (On a side note — I’d never been to Marin Green before and it’s a very clean, spacious park).
