Bucket & Bay is celebrating its 1-year anniversary this Sunday with a new addition to the family — the Gelato Chocolate-Hazelnut Cakewich. Plus, all proceeds from Cakewich sales will be donated to local non-profit Hudson County CASA, an organization that aids abused and neglected children with access to medical, therapeutic, and educational services.
The event — which runs from 4pm through 8pm — will feature live music, a pop-up empanada stand, and the unveiling of the Gelato Cakewich.
There will be no set price for Cakewich slices, but guests are encouraged to donate $5 to $10 for each slice in order to support Hudson County CASA.
Attendees will also be able to pre-order a full Cakewich, which comes with 32 cookies, at a $20 discount (regular price $79).
In terms of music, the anniversary party will have a DJ set by the Rock-it Docket followed by sets from Jersey City-based funk band Kiwi and the New Orleans Jazz Trio. All sets will be performed outdoors in front of the shop at 150 Bay Street. The party is free for all to attend. —Bucket & Bay
